Getting the Band Back Together
Acrylic on birch panel | 30 x 24 inches | 2025 | $850
Getting the Band Back Together is a celebration of connection, rhythm, and joy, entirely in paint. As part of the Fractured Harmony series, this piece brings together the many facets of my art practice (and my personality too).
I layered swooping brushstrokes, organic shapes, hard-edged lines, and geometric elements, letting each mark interact in unexpected ways. Opaque and transparent layers build depth and movement, inviting the eye to wander and discover moments of surprise. The painting is playful yet deliberate, intuitive yet considered, capturing the energy of reunion and the quiet delight of bringing disparate elements into harmony.
For me, this work is about embracing complexity without losing clarity; allowing tension and release, spontaneity and structure, to coexist on the same canvas. I hope it brings energy, warmth, and a spark of joy to your space, and reminds you that even fractured pieces can come together beautifully.
This piece is for anyone who celebrates connection, joy, and the playful rhythms of life. It’s for those who appreciate contemporary abstract art that is bold, layered, and alive, and who enjoy exploring colour, texture, and movement in every glance. Whether you’re a collector seeking a statement piece, someone looking to bring vitality to a home or workspace, or simply a lover of colour and rhythm, this painting speaks to anyone who finds meaning in harmony within complexity.
