The Problem with Beautiful Things | 12 x 12 inches

$350.00

There are beaches where you cannot stop picking things up. This work, part of the Amongst the Nikau series, grew from one of those places, a New Zealand shoreline so rich with shells that abundance itself became the experience. Rounded forms in coral, sage and navy jostle for attention, each one distinct, none willing to recede.

It is a painting about the particular pleasure and frustration of too much beauty in one place, and the impossibility of leaving any of it behind.

Acrylic on birch panel | 12 × 12 inches

Mounted in a contemporary, natural oak tray frame (13 ¼ x 13 ¼ inches framed)

Free local pickup in Port Moody, BC.
