I Dare You Not to Smile | 12 x 12 inches

$350.00

The piwakawaka, the fantail, has a way of arriving just when you need it. Small and cheeky, it swoops in close, fans those extraordinary tail feathers, and moves on. We encountered different birds in different forests across New Zealand, but the feeling was always the same: welcomed. We started looking for them everywhere we went.

This painting carries that energy: looping, darting forms that can't quite sit still, and in the bottom right corner, three small pink marks. The tail feathers. They're always there if you look.

Acrylic on birch panel | 12 × 12 inches

Mounted in a contemporary, natural oak tray frame (13 ¼ x 13 ¼ inches framed)

Free local pickup in Port Moody, BC.
