I love the beach. The wilder, the better. The watery blues and greens in this painting remind me of summer days spent on the west coast of Vancouver island. Scavenging the beach for glass. Searching the tide pools for creatures. And if we were lucky, spotting sea otters resting in the kelp fronds, just offshore. Kelp Forest captures these feelings for me, with it’s soft, organic shapes, ocean-inspired palette and hints of sunlight streaming through the water to reveal the bottom of the ocean.
