Dragonfly in Amber

Acrylic on birch panel | 20 x 20 inches | 2024 | $500

Part of my Second Chance series, this painting is a layered transformation — much like Diana Gabaldon’s time-traveling tales, it carries echoes of its past selves. Beneath the surface are remnants of an earlier painting, now obscured, revealed, and reimagined through masked shapes that seem suspended in time — like fragments caught in resin. Over top, thick, juicy brushstrokes sweep across the surface, creating a rich contrast between precision and abandon, containment and release.

This piece is for the collector who sees beauty in evolution and contradiction — who understands that what we carry forward is shaped by what came before. A visual reminder that nothing is ever truly lost; it just changes form.
