This is a painting with two lives.

A New Pair of Wings was built onto Shooting Star, first shown at Brave Brewing in 2023, with circular masks laid over the original before big, joyful brushstrokes of chartreuse, gold, teal, and aqua took over. What shows through each circle now feels discovered rather than planned -- little portals, bubbles, moons. The upper half glows with yellow-green light; the lower half deepens into rich teal and blue.

It's whimsical without being precious, and it would be equally at home above a child's bed or in a grown-up room that still has room for wonder.
